What's New?

  My Upcoming Book

Reduce Your Cancer Risk

My newest project is a preventive health book about reducing risk for cancer, co-authored with Michael Stefanek, PhD, of the American Cancer Society. It's a step-by-step guide on how to accurately assess your personal risk for cancer and take steps to definitively reduce that risk. The book discussess everything from using the Web for finding information about cancer risk to genetic counseling to the benefits of exercise, losing weight, nutrition and preventive medications.  The book includes personalized information for those with a family history of cancer as well as cancer survivors. It also discusses what constitutes  "cancer quackery" and how to  decipher cancer news in the media - and tell the difference between cancer cures and cancer "hype." Look for it in 2009, published by Demos Medical Publishing.
